Accessibility Statement

Conformance target

We're building this site to conform with WCAG 2.2 at Level AA, and to Level AAA for color contrast specifically, wherever that doesn't compromise the design. This is a target we're actively building toward, not a certification of full conformance by an outside auditor.

What we've done

• Semantic HTML landmarks and headings, plus a skip-to-content link on every page.
• Visible focus indicators on every interactive element — we don't suppress the browser's default outline without replacing it with something equally visible.
• Full episode transcripts published as real, readable text on the page, not locked inside a downloadable file.
• An audio player built on Able Player, an open-source, fully keyboard-operable media player, instead of a distributor's embedded player.
• No autoplaying audio or video, no content that flashes, and respect for prefers-reduced-motion for anyone who has that set.
• Atkinson Hyperlegible as the site's typeface, designed for readability.

Known limitations

We're honest that this is a new site, still being actively built:

• It has not yet been through a formal accessibility audit by an outside party.
• Manual testing so far has focused on NVDA with Windows (one host's daily setup). Testing with VoiceOver and other screen readers is ongoing.
• Able Player is a third-party open-source library. We rely on its own accessibility work and don't control its internals, though it was built specifically for accessible media playback.

Technologies relied upon

This site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. It's built as plain, static pages (no front-end framework), which keeps the markup predictable for assistive technology.
